It’s Election Day, so I’ll refrain from talking about politics… at least until the results are in. Instead, I’ve got good news – the iPod dock in my Golf is working again. Installing it last night, I had flashbacks to senior design lab (spending hours troubleshooting only to find out an improper ground was causing all the trouble). Regardless, I’m happy it’s working and sounding good again.

In other news, I finally stumbled into MySpace over the weekend – a few years behind the curve, I guess. It turns out several of my friends from Palmyra use the social networking service, and it was easy to look them up. On a related note, congratulations to Eric and Toni Pieper on the birth of their baby girl. It will feel strange, I think, every time one of my friends from school gets married or becomes a parent. It really doesn’t seem like so long ago that we were having Cub Scout meetings in Eric’s basement.

Hopefully I’ll be on the road back to Kansas City two weeks from today. Thanks to MySpace I found out Ryan is going to graduate school in Fort Collins, Colorado. We sent a few messages back and forth, and I might be stopping by on my way east. I’ve heard Fort Collins was named one of the best places in the country to live (by some magazine, or website, or… something).

I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn enough nights now to get to “platinum elite” status in their loyalty program. Don’t know how much good it will do me, but I do get more frequent flier miles now and complementary room upgrades. Unfortunately, there aren’t any better rooms to upgrade to at the Holiday Inn in Price. It might make it worth staying at a Holiday Inn when I’m traveling if I can get a nice room at a regular room’s price though.

Expecting an orderly conclusion to this post? Not today.
